Every child born in 2018 shall be entitled to free pre-school (4 hours on weekdays) during the school year 2024–2025 in accordance with the Basic Education Act. Furthermore, children of seven whose studying has been postponed along with children of five with a decision on prolonged compulsory schooling shall be entitled to pre-school. Pre-school shall commence on the 12th of August 2024 and end on the 28st of May 2025. The enrolment in pre-school provided by the municipal and private day care centres for children shall be made through an electronic enrolment form.
In addition to pre-school, the needed early childhood education and care (day care) shall be organised in the same place as pre-primary education. In addition to pre-school provided by private day care centres for children, you should apply for a service voucher for the needed early childhood education and care (day care).
Places providing pre-school 2024–2025
The decisions on pre-school shall be sent to families on the 31st of March 2024, either electronically or on paper, according to choice of persons who have custody of the child.
